THE NATURAL BEAUTY AND DURABILITY OF
GENUINE TERRAZZO FLOORS... at a Fraction of the Cost

Frequently Asked questions:

How is Floorazzo shipped?

Floorazzo is sold FOB from the factory in Siler City, NC and trucked from here. We will be happy to arrange shipping for you or you can choose to arrange your own. Call us and we can get you estimated shipping changes for a particular job in 24 hours or less. We will be happy to bill you for it as part of the job cost. We can also have it shipped freight collect from Siler City to the destination of your choice.

Is Floorazzo the same as poured-in-place terrazzo?

Yes, because it is “real” terrazzo, composed of resin and marble. The only difference is that Floorazzo is pre-cast, which keeps the real mess associated with traditional poured-in-place terrazzo at our factory rather than at the job site.

What are the benefits of Floorazzo when compared to poured-in-place terrazzo?

Terrazzo floors are known to easily handle high-traffic situations and last a lifetime. Floorazzo offers these same life cycle characteristics but at a fraction of the cost.
How? Poured-in-place terrazzo demands the talents of highly specialized technicians for proper installation. Any installer experienced with utilizing a wet saw can install Floorazzo. For this reason, the cost of installation is drastically reduced.

What separates Floorazzo from other tile manufacturers?

We pride ourselves in being a “specialty tile” factory. We do not stock to inventory; every job is poured to order. Because of this, custom changes are easy and the job size does not have to be large. We will make custom tile for any job over 500 sq. ft.

What is considered custom tile? What are my options? How do I go about it?

Simply, any tile color outside of our standard (20) color line is considered custom. However, you can swap the marble or background color within the (20) any way you like---at no extra charge (4-6 week standard delivery from receipt of raw material). See marble in one or more tile you like and background color from another? No problem, mix and match away!

If you see marble you like but not a background color, not to worry. Our pigment supplier has standard color pallet of 36 colors from which to choose (added charge to use pigment other than what we keep in-house plus minimum order charge, if job is small). It takes approximately 1½ weeks to receive from vendor.

If the standard pigment color pallet still doesn’t offer the color you desire, simply supply us a color chip and we will have our pigment vendor match it ($500 cost for color development plus upcharge to use pigment other than one in-house). Expect 2 – 3 week lead time (appx.) to receive new pigment.

All of the marble used in our standard (20) color line come from a local aggregate supplier. We try to achieve different looks by changing backgrounds and playing with local marble. Even though we prefer to use local marble because it is easy accessible, other marble colors are available around the country. If you definitely want to achieve the color you desire thru the marble and not the background, tell us what you want and we’ll find it. (Added charge for using marble other than locally available. Prices vary.)

You are not limited on marble size either—smaller or larger marble can also be used (added charge).

When a custom tile color is developed for you and is good solely to you, Floorazzo will ship and bill the extra material run with the order (which covers possible breakage thru the factory) up to 5%.

Can other aggregate be used in addition to or instead of marble?

Definitely—glass, mirror, metals can all be incorporated (added charge). As you can see, the sky’s the limit! You design it; we’ll build it!

Have a piece of flooring you need to match?

Send it to us. No matter what it is…vinyl, poured-in-place, etc. We’ll evaluate it then make a pass at coming as close as we can with marble and pigments we stock. If you like it, great! If not, tell us what you think and we’ll tweak it to your liking.

What size and thickness is a Floorazzo tile?

Floorazzo tile are 2’ x 2’ standard, in either 1/8” or 3/16” gauge. At this time, Floorazzo is not offered in smaller sizes. For an added charge, Floorazzo 2’ x 4’ panels can be ordered. These panels are often used when water jet cutting designs are required, resulting in fewer lines within the pattern. Also, some designers like the visual appeal of mixing square tile with panels within one application. The panels can also be installed vertically for wall applications.

Why do we offer two thicknesses? Is one better than the other?

There are no benefits of one thickness over the other. You will never wear through either. We offer the two gauges for those instances when our floor is joining with another floor and requires a smooth transition.

What are the dimensions of Floorazzo cove base?

Coordinating Floorazzo cove base comes in 4” or 6” height, 1’ or 2’ length, 3/16” gauge, with a beveled top edge and flat bottom edge.

What gives Floorazzo its shine?

The Floorazzo shine is a built in finish achieved by high-speed polishing utilizing Italian abrasives.

Is grout used to install Floorazzo?

It is not necessary to grout our tile. Floorazzo is precision cut square to be butt-joined to achieve the same monolithic-look that of poured-in-place terrazzo. Of course, grout can be used to achieve a particular desired design.

What type of maintenance does Floorazzo require?

Upon installation, the floor must be sealed using TASKI or Johnson & Johnson Plaza Plus or equivalent. After that, normal maintenance any floor in a high-traffic area would require—damp mop/sweep, wax, and buff.

What is the “green” make-up of Floorazzo?

78% natural material and 22% man-made.
